DOCUMENT CONTROLLER
Job Purpose
To provide the site management and production leadership for work package/area allocated to you on the project. Lead field production and support the Project Manager in achieving the project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the achievement of the Health and Safety objectives set within the Westfields Construction Health and Safety Policy.
- To deliver the appointed packages to the client within budget, Quality Assurance standards, on programme and to stringent safety parameters.
- To work with the Project Manager to develop detailed and accurate short-term programmes of work.
- Ensure that site safety requirements and regulations are implemented and monitored in accordance with current legislation.
- To manage the budget and delivery of the section/ packages allocated.
- To provide accurate and timely reporting of progress against the agreed programme.
- To plan the programming of day to day resource requirement and communicate these to the construction team.
- To interface with other sections managers to share best practice and ensure effective resource utilisation.
- To monitor external changes to work plans and report the effect of change.
- To lead section meetings and review progress in productivity, design and achievement of commercial requirements.
- To ensure effective implementation of Westfields project management systems and procedures.
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments as necessary and carry out inductions to all operatives.
- Ensure site diary is kept up to date and labour and plant returns are submitted on a weekly basis for internal works packages and Subcontractors.
- Ensure individual operatives are aware of specification and are complying with same.
- Implementing design team and subcontractor drawings & details, including logging & distribution on site.
- Interpret drawings and specifications, including build ability and developing risk register.
- Set up and maintain a secure, clean & tidy site, hutting, hoardings, signage and storage.
- Control site correspondence and maintain accurate records.
- Produce the required standards of work and where necessary identify defects, non-conformance and implement corrective action.
- Ensure that site safety requirements and regulations are implemented and monitored in accordance with current legislation.
- Operate safe systems of work at all times, assess and reduce risk of injury, carry out first aid and understand our legal obligations.
